Islands in the South Pacific have been heavily affected by severe cyclones, with residents stuck in an ongoing cycle of rebuilding their homes and recovering their valuables from the wreckage.
The purpose of this prototype is to bring an end to this cycle and give the residents a sense of security and positivity, whilst also preserving the traditions and culture long established by their communities.
This design aims to not only ensure a cyclone-resistant housing unit in the South Pacific but to also support and enrich the culture and livelihood in the intended communities.
By connecting the prototype housing units together, the structural stability for the units will be strengthened against cyclones.
